FREE SONG OF THE MONTH
February 2025
YOU DON'T LOVE ME BUT I'LL ALWAYS CARE (in G)
Written by Lou Wayne (now that's a country songwriter sounding name!) and first recorded by Bob Wills in 1940 with Tommy Duncan on vocal. You can poke around on Youtube and find several versions, but definitely check out Ray Price on his 1962 tribute album to Bob Wills, "San Antonio Rose." Merle Haggard recorded a great version too.

dance showcase
Watch Barb & Jay cut a rug to our Song of the Month, You Don't Love Me But I'll Always Care.
They are dancing a Lindy Hop with traditional eight count rhythms and eight count swing outs to this Western Swing tune. However this song can also be interpreted through many other dances by two steppers, one steppers, and ballroom dancers dancing rumba or foxtrot.
Just remember the Golden Rule of Western Swing, kids, - HAVE FUN!L
